The green sector company Grupo Projar will present its innovative hydroponic system for the cultivation of fig trees in the new edition of Fruit Attraction, the International Fair for the Fruit and Vegetable Sector, held from October 22 to 24 in Madrid.
After conducting a trial in an experimental center, it has been found that the advantages of implementing this technique with crops such as blueberries, for example, also apply to figs; a fruit that is increasingly in demand. In this case, the advantages observed include a faster plant development, a greater production, more homogeneity in the harvest with higher quality fruit, as well as a simpler harvesting, given that the fruit is more accessible to human height.
Projar will be present at stand 10G14 of Hall 10, where it will also present its latest developments in the fruit and vegetable sector and the best hydroponic solutions for berries and horticultural and fruit tree productions.
Given the growing demand for berries, the company will showcase its solutions for the cultivation of blueberries, strawberries, raspberries or blackberries, especially for areas with poor soil, where hydroponics has allowed many hectares to be cultivated, or regions where the edaphological conditions are more adequate and producers are starting to bet on this type of techniques, which make it possible to advance the crop cycles and obtain greater productions.
To this end, Projar offers a wide range of products, such as substrates and coconut fiber, as well as pots and other accessories, which allow growers not only to increase their productions, but also guarantee more homogeneous crops than with other methods, while advancing the production process.
As explained by the communications manager of the Projar Group, Miriam Carretero, “in addition to manufacturing the substrates, we offer all kinds of accessories, such as pots, weed control systems, irrigation pipe fixing systems, pot risers or drainage gutters, and we take charge of the entire logistic part, which allows those responsible for the production or the buyers of fruit companies to simplify their supply and daily work.”
