Russian Federation: Reduction of fruit exports - increased imports

The Russian Federation has reduced fruit exports and increased imports, said the Director of the Department of Plant Production, Mechanization, Chemicalization and Plant Protection of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Roman Nekrasov.

In particular, the export of pome seeds decreased by 33.8% to 12 thousand tons in physical terms and by 37.3% to $ 4.5 million in cash. The volume of apple exports fell to 11.7 thousand tons (-34.8%) or $ 4 million (-39.5%). Deliveries of pears, on the contrary, rose to 440.6 tons (+ 8.6%) and $ 371 thousand (-3%). Last year, Kostochkovyh exported 864.5 tons (+ 17.5%) for $ 462.3 thousand (-15.6%). At the same time, the export of berries increased by 47.9% to 305.5 tons by weight and by 18% to $ 499.9 thousand in money.

A-ipp.ru lists the main main importers of Russian fruits last year were Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, China, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Estonia.

Pome fruit
The import of pome seeds in 2018 amounted to 1.1 million tons in physical volume (+ 13.9%) and $ 726.6 million in cash (+ 20.9%). Russian traders bought apples at 845.4 thousand tons (+ 19%) in the amount of $ 518.3 million (+ 26.8%). Pears imported 272.9 thousand tons (+ 0.6%) worth $ 202.2 million (+ 8.5%). The volume of deliveries of stone fruit amounted to 449.7 thousand tons (+ 0.3%) and $ 430.7 million (+ 3.9%). Imports of berries increased by 45.6% in value to $ 101.5 million, while physical volumes increased compared to the previous year only by 7.9% to 59.9 thousand tons. 295.7 thousand tons (-22.8%) of grapes were purchased for $ 324.7 million (-18.3%).
