Fatma Zramdini, Riofresh:

"Tunisia: "The demand for figs is always higher than the supply"

The Riofresh group produces and sells Tunisian and Moroccan fruits and vegetables on various international markets. One of their flagship products is the Tunisian fig. Fatma Zramdini, CEO of the company: "Figs are a very delicate and popular product; the demand is always higher than the supply."

Riofresh exports most figs to the Gulf States, such as Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Dubai. The company is looking to open new markets in Europe. Fatma: "In order to increase our supply, we are planning to open new production farms."

Figs are produced in the region of Djebba, in the governorate of Beja, and are of the Bouhouli variety. Fatma: "This variety is unique to this region; it is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and fiber, and has a mild taste. It's a good year, with a good harvest, and good quality figs."

The Riofresh group has two fruit stations: one in Tunisia, and another in Morocco. Riofresh will not only open new production farms for figs, but also for Moroccan tomatoes and strawberries, and for Barbary figs and Tunisian pomegranates.
