"The year that is coming to an end has confirmed that the Easy raspberry line is positioning itself as a high-level solution on the global market. Thanks to some characteristics shared by the varieties, such as easy harvesting, long shelf-life, and variety complementarity, these raspberries are getting more and more popular among farmers in Europe and beyond," reports Luca Molari, managing partner of G-Berries and Molari Società Agricola. "As everybody knows by now, the EasyRock®, EasyStar® and the new EasyRose® varieties originate from the Lucchini Berries improvement programme. G-Berries manages their commercial, strategic, and technical development worldwide, and Molari Società Agricola handles the propagation and distribution of the plant material in the various markets."

EasyRock is confirming itself as one of the most interesting solutions for a double cycle. "This year's distribution has been considerable, and the quality of the material distributed has been remarkable, thanks to the constant and scrupulous efforts of our nursery team throughout all stages. As far as Europe is concerned, there have been important developments in Poland, a key country in raspberry production, Portugal, Italy, the United Kingdom, as well as a very good growth in the Spanish market, which is always very important for us and where we are able to offer interesting solutions such as bare-root striplings. Morocco, in particular, saw a significant growth in hectares and final fruit quality - this variety is giving us great satisfaction over there, and we manage it with a Club strategy. Certainly, the fact that the variety is already included in the lists of many central and northern European supermarkets is an important recognition of the value and quality of the fruit."
EasyStar is an excellent solution for winter production, as it is one of the few alternatives for this particular growing cycle. "With this variety, we recommend late transplanting in the Mediterranean basin areas because we have noticed that it achieves the best results in terms of quality, giving companies the opportunity to produce fruit at a time of year when market prices are very attractive. There is excellent development in Morocco and Italy, and interesting results in Spain as well. For EasyRock and EasyStar, there is also an important development in Mexico, and we are already present in India and Egypt."

Alessandro Gualandi, Variety Development Manager of G-Berries, added that: "EasyRose looks like a great novelty, and there is already a lot of talk about it on the market. It is a very interesting variety in terms of fruit size, shelf-life, easy harvesting, and colour. We have carried out the first tests this past year, which are already significant in terms of quantity, and we are looking forward to a strong market position next year. The variety lends itself to late transplanting (late July to August) for winter production, or it can also work for a more classic cycle. On the international markets, the strategy will be slightly different with respect to how we have positioned the two previous varieties."
As for the European market, the distribution of "cuttings" for the new year will start in February. Monia Dall'Ara, head of Molari Società Agricola, concludes by saying that: "There is significant material available, but we recommend that orders be placed as early as late this year so that the nursery team can plan ahead and supply high-quality material throughout the period."
