Peru's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) reported that the country's total exports reached a record US$8.73 billion in August 2025, marking the highest monthly value ever recorded. Between January and August 2025, exports totaled US$55.64 billion, up 18.8% compared with the same period last year.
According to Mincetur, agricultural exports reached US$8.2 billion, a 20.9% increase year-on-year. Growth was driven by higher shipments of fruit (+21.7%) such as avocado, grapes, and pomegranates, as well as vegetables (+10.4%) including asparagus, chili peppers, bell peppers, and artichokes.
China remained the leading destination for Peruvian exports, with total shipments valued at US$20.73 billion, primarily consisting of minerals and agricultural products. It was followed by the European Union (US$6.31 billion), supported by exports of avocados and cacao beans, and the United States (US$5.73 billion), where grapes and blueberries featured prominently among shipments.
Mincetur noted that Peruvian products reached 166 international markets between January and August 2025. A total of 8,475 exporters participated during this period, 67% of which were micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.
Twenty regions increased their export volumes, led by Huánuco (+229%), San Martín (+107%), Amazonas (+72%), Junín (+67%), and Lambayeque (+61%), reflecting broad regional participation in agricultural trade growth.
