"AnsiP-G helps Korean farmers extend the shelf life of apples"

Every September, the LytoFresh technology team from Lytone Enterprise, Inc. travels to South Korea to visit resellers, cooperatives, farmers' associations, agricultural suppliers, and apple orchards together with their local distributor, Global Agro Co. Ltd. These annual visits help the team better understand how their key freshness solution, AnsiP-G—marketed under the brand name Smart Ocean in South Korea—is being used in real-world applications.

The Best Choice for Apple Freshness Solution in Korea
In Korea, the Chuseok harvest festival in September and the year-end New Year season are both peak periods for fruit gifting. Since apples are freshly harvested only from September onward, supply is often tight and prices are high. For many growers, the challenge lies in safely storing apples from the previous season to meet this key market demand.

"By the end of 2022, AnsiP-G had been adopted in more than 2,500 growing areas across Korea," said Sylvia Lee from Lytone Enterprise. "Farmers find it easy to use and highly reliable. It helps apples stay fresh in cold storage for up to a full year, making it both a safe and cost-effective choice."

Trusted by plant experts
In 2022, Plant Doctor Jang Kwang-Wook, CEO of Evergreen Plant Hospital in Gimcheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do, shared his experience: "AnsiP-G has been proven effective in global markets. Thanks to its outstanding preservation results, I've continued using it and recommend it to nearby farms looking for a reliable freshness solution."

Each year during their visits, the LytoFresh team celebrates the apple harvest with growers across Korea. During this year's trip to Geochang, apples were developing well and harvested earlier than in other regions. At the Geochang Gamaksan Apple & Grape Farmers' Association, the team sampled freshly cut apples with a natural honey aroma. Later visits to smaller orchards also brought them freshly picked apples—a sign of another promising season ahead. © Lytone

Apple Freshness Solution: A Quick Guide
After harvest, apples are typically stored at low temperatures to maintain freshness. However, during storage, they release ethylene gas, which accelerates ripening and spoilage. AnsiP-G contains 1-MCP (1-methylcyclopropene), a compound that binds to ethylene receptors and blocks the fruit's response to ethylene gas. This process slows ripening, reduces respiration rates, and effectively extends shelf life.

"AnsiP-G allows apples to maintain their firmness and flavor for much longer, which is especially valuable for long-term storage before major holidays," Sylvia added.
