Belize exports up 11.1% in May

According to data from the Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB), domestic exports in May 2025 increased to $45.7 million, showing a growth of 11.1% or $4.6 million compared to May 2024, which recorded $41.2 million. This growth was influenced by performance in several export categories.

Banana exports experienced an increase of $1.8 million, reaching $9.4 million. Citrus products, such as orange concentrate and orange oil, also noted a growth of $1.8 million, amassing a total of $5.2 million for the period. Red kidney beans, which were absent in exports last May, reentered the market, generating $1.1 million in sales.

Overall, while there were declines in some areas, the key agricultural exports showed a positive trend, contributing to the trade sector of Belize during the month.
