New England Village Foods of Milford, NH has issued a recall for all lots of its "19th Hole Snack Mix" in both 5-ounce and 10-ounce containers due to the presence of undeclared almonds. Individuals with almond allergies are at risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products.
The recalled snack mix was distributed to independent grocery markets and convenience stores throughout New England, New York, and Pennsylvania. It was sold in clear 5-ounce and 10-ounce cups and tubs with re-closable lids. The affected products can be identified by UPC 609465693477 (5 oz.) and UPC 642147152459 (10 oz.), printed in black ink on the product lid.
No illnesses have been reported to date. The recall was initiated after a customer discovered the presence of almonds in the product, which were not listed on the packaging. A subsequent investigation revealed that the issue resulted from a temporary failure in the company's packaging process. As a precaution, production of the snack mix has been temporarily suspended.
Consumers who purchased the 5-ounce or 10-ounce packages are advised to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Questions or concerns may be directed to New England Village Foods at 1.603.554.1873, Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 4 PM Eastern Time.
