Juan Gonzalez Pita with Salix Fruits

"This Fruit Logistica edition feels like an exceptional opportunity to meet customers"

After two years of pivoting to all things interactive and Zoom-led, the produce industry is once again coming together in person. The annual Fruit Logistica is finally back in Berlin on April 5-7.

“Meet on site again” is the global scenario set for the fresh fruit business and the show will welcome more than 2,000 exhibitors from 68 countries.

“This is a very special year. It’s my 20th fair and I’m really happy to be back in Berlin after two long years with our stand in the same place, as always,” says Juan Gonzalez Pita, COO and founder of Salix Fruits, an importer and exporter of fresh fruits. Salix can be found at Hall 25, Booth 07.

Juan Gonzalez Pita (above) is heading back for his 20th fair next week.

“Although we had the Madrid fair at the end of 2021, then Omicron appeared and Fruit Logistica had to be rescheduled. That’s why this edition feels like an exceptional opportunity to meet customers, suppliers and friends again,” says Gonzalez Pita.

Russia’s invasion in Ukraine will be, for sure, a topic of conversation during the fair. “The war is not only complicated and alarming at a geopolitical level, but at a business level as well. Russia is a very large market and the world's main importer of apples, so all the things that happen or don't happen there, will have consequences in many markets,” says Gonzalez Pita.

The last Logistica was held in February 2020.

The number of registered exhibitors for Fruit Logistica 2022 is comparable to the last event held in February 2020. Although the largest participation comes from Europe, Central and South America are also very well represented. Exhibitors representing the entire supply chain for fresh fruit and vegetables, from the producer to the point of sale, including the main players in the sector, will present in more than 25 pavilions.
