Some of the exhibitors were from France, Spain, Greece, Netherlands, Belgium, with representatives also from Portugal, United Kingdom, Nordic countries and Eastern Europe (Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary). There were also interesting participants from overseas, including the Middle East, North and South America (USA, Peru, Uruguay) and Oceania and Indonesia.

"After a couple of seasons of a standstill in trade fair activities," explain several sector operators present at the event, " being back in presence at a major trade fair is a sign of optimism, a proof that the agri-food chain continues to reap the benefits of work that has never stopped, not even in the dark moments of the lockdown.

There were many exhibiting companies at the fair, even if the influx of visitors is slightly limited compared to previous editions. Participation was limited in size, although it was well organized in terms of highlighting new growth trends, especially those relating to the processed segment (organic, attention to processes, the relationship between food and health, sustainability).

Luciano Sorbillo, master pizza maker and Giuseppe Torrente marketing manager of the La Torrente family business. Gourmet pizza was born for the first time in Naples, with friarelli, sausage and provola cheese. La Torrente has focused on communicating the Mediterranean diet and the relationship between food and health, which is a key factor in achieving sustainable quality.

Ferrera’s cherry tomato and datterino tomato sauce

Among the novelties in the segment of 100% Sicilian processed tomatoes, L'Ortofrutticola F presented in Milan the new line of ready-made cherry tomato and datterino tomato sauces freshly processed under the Ferrera brand.

According to many professionals, this event is still extremely important, especially for those companies that specialize in private labels and have the opportunity to network and share experiences at trade fairs. Click here to access the photo album.

At Host Milano, the students from the Professional Institute for Food and Wine and Hospitality Gioberti in Rome represented an innovative first dish and a dessert. The theme of the competition was to promote Pecorino romano DOP cheese and the delivery sector.

More than 100 events took place at the fair, culminating in the Road to Tuttofood show, which, even during the lockdown, has maintained lively contact with the operators in the supply chain, through 20 initiatives scheduled on the web. In addition to the Retail Plaza, focused on large-scale distribution and retail, the Evolution Plaza is dedicated to the most tech-savvy aspects - apps, food delivery, e-commerce, traceability - and offers initiatives and best practices from major players, innovative start-ups and exhibitors, as well as workshops on the hottest topics of the moment. Space for creativity and taste, on the other hand, in the Academy organized with APCI - Associazione Professionale Cuochi Italiani (Professional Association of Italian Chefs), and in the Enoteca UIV of Tuttowine, organized by Unione Italiana Vini.
