The United States Postal Service has created a new Fruits and Vegetables set of 10 non-denominated (55¢) stamps, which will be issued July 17. They will come out in a double-sided pane of 20, which the Postal Service identifies as a booklet.
Charleston, W.Va., has been selected as the official first-day city for this issue, but no public first-day ceremony has been announced. The Postal Service has canceled plans for several stamp ceremonies this year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Fruits and Vegetables stamps were designed by USPS art director Derry Noyes using 10 oil-on-canvas paintings by artist Robert Papp of Bucks County, Pa.
Linns.com reports how the produce items featured are red and black plums, heirloom and cherry tomatoes, carrots, lemons, blueberries, red and green grapes, lettuces, strawberries, eggplants, and figs.
