The Banana Marketing and Export Association of Ecuador (Acorbanec) published a list of the 5 companies that grew the most in 2019, led by Dole, which a decade or more ago displaced the leading exporter, Alvaro Noboa, the owner of Bonita Banana.
The Top 5 of the largest Ecuadorian exporters of 2019 were comprised of:
Dole, with 41,136,941 boxes of bananas, which accounted for 11.52% of all banana exports.
Rey Banano del Pacifico. Segundo Wong's company increased its exports to 24,239,895 boxes, i.e. 34.73% more than in 2018.
Frutadeli grew by 69.95% in 2019 and exported 18,638,106 boxes of banana, accounting for 5.22% of Ecuador's total exports.
Comersur ranked fourth with 14,090,528 boxes of bananas and performance of 16.76% in 2019.
Agzulasa ranked fifth with 11,517,921 boxes, which represents an increase of 26.79%, according to Acorbanec.
