Chile's fruit export value during the 2018-2019 season is estimated at 18 billion US dollars. With the cherry harvest nearing its end, China is still Chile's main cherry export destination.
Chile is China's second-largest provider of imported fruit, second only to Thailand and closely followed by Vietnam. China's total volume of fruit imports and exports in 2018 reached 9.01 million tons, with total value reaching 12.45 billion U.S. dollars. The top three Chilean fruits exported to China are cherry, durian, and grape.
Chile has more than 140 fruit export destinations worldwide, with China being one of its main trading partners and one of its main markets for fresh fruit.
