"Innovation is only successful if it strikes a nerve'

Behr AG launches new product line: 'Dampfgenuss'

"It has to be fast, but it should also be healthy and easy and, above all, I should like it, even if I'm not a master chef!" So the answer to the question should be: "What makes the perfect meal for you?"

BEHR AG from Seevetal offers a completely new, tasty answer to this requirement: BEHR'S Dampfgenuss. This is field-fresh vegetables - packed whole heads in a steam foil. The current offer consists of three combinations: Cauliflower + Broccoli, Cauliflower + Romanesco and 2 x Pointed cabbage. Preparation can be done quickly, simply and it's impressively tasty - even without a steamer and without Michelin stars. The customer just has to put the product -still in its foil- in the microwave and cook it for a few minutes according to the information on the packaging. For seasoning, we simply recommend a little butter, salt and pepper or a delicious sauce of your choice.

Simple in the preparation, but tasty
The special feature is the pure, unadulterated cooking of the products without the addition of water. This protects vitamins and the taste and the look of the vegetables leaves even chefs amazed: "Really impressive, how intense the taste is! The look is impressing me too," said Jan Aigner, winner of" The Taste" 2014. Incidentally, he has three delicious sauce recipes, matching the new BEHR products. "For those who prefer something else than just butter, salt and pepper," adds Aigner.

Cooking in the microwave using the steam foil does not require any extra water. The cooking time is 4-7 minutes, depending on the product and your preferred 'bite'. Therefore, this type of preparation is particularly vitamin-friendly. According to scientific studies cabbage vegetables, even contain more vitamin C after microwave steaming cooking than in the raw state.

"Vegetables are a hit"
BEHR'S Dampfgenuss is another innovation from BEHR. "Everyone wants to live healthily and only eat health-giving things. Vegetables are a big hit. But no one has the time or patience for cooking. That's where we can help with our steamable vegetables," says Behr, CEO of BEHR AG, describing the driving force behind the product development of BEHR'S Dampfgenuss.

BEHR AG is a Europe-wide operating group in vegetable production and it has around 4,000 hectares of outdoor vegetables, of which almost 300 hectares are organically farmed. Innovations have always been a recipe for success for the family-run company. "Innovation is only successful if the hits a nerve with the consumers. That's the problem. Often you are wrong. But if you do not try something new once in a while, it's 'super boring'," says Behr.
