"Excessive rainfall in 2018 affected fresh ginger production areas in China to various degrees. The production areas in and around Anqiu in Shandong suffered the most. The overall production volume was still relatively stable because the surface area devoted to fresh ginger production in Anqiu increased." This is according to Jacky of Anqiu Xinheng Food Co., Ltd.
"In the end, the overall supply volume of fresh ginger in China was smaller than last year, and the export price consequently increased. This dampened the enthusiasm of overseas importers who looked at the high price with caution. We have decided, under these circumstances, not to increase the export price of our fresh ginger, which remains around 1400 USD per ton."
"We own around 47 hectares of fresh ginger plantations in Anqiu. We export all the fresh ginger we produce to the Netherlands, France, and Spain. The Netherlands is our main trade partner. We package our products according to the various demands of different markets. We package fresh ginger in 13 kg bags for the Dutch market and in 5 kg bags for the Spanish market."
"While we continue to steadily develop our current markets, we also look with enthusiasm for opportunities in new markets such as Belgium and Poland where there is a relatively large demand for fresh ginger from China.
