The Azienda Ortoflorovivaistica dei Fratelli Simonato company, based in Italy, is introducing a new, fully-biodegradable and recyclable packaging concept at its Fruit Logistica stand in CityCube Berlin. Bio Kepos 3 (image) is an innovative, eco-friendly packaging specially developed for organically-grown aromatic herbs.
It includes three components: a 10cm-diameter pot made from plant fibres that can be disposed of after use in an organic waste bin and composted together with the plant and soil; a transparent bag made from a fully-biodegradable industrial material that can be placed in the residual waste container; and a leaflet made from certified food-grade paper that can be thrown into the wastepaper bin after use.
