More than vitamins and fibre found in pineapple cargo
The Drug Control Police of the Costa Rica Ministry of Public Security seized a total of 133 kilograms of cocaine hidden among a cargo of pineapples. The authorities got an anonymous call through their confidential line, referencing a possible drug transport.
The drugs were found in a container which was supposedly carrying bananas aboard a vessel of destined for Ireland. With the help of a K-9 unit, agents were able to find the packages of cocaine, hidden between boxes of pineapples.
The drugs were confiscated but because of the circumstances there have been no arrests as of yet.
According to news.co.cr, this year the Costa Rica police have already seized over $500 million worth of cocaine.
