Aurélie Guillen, Medifel:

"France: "Familiarize the consumer with sweetcorn"

During the Perpignan MedFEL last week, Aurélie Guillen of the Provençale company Medifel presented Maistro: fresh, sweet corn, completely GMO-free. Recently, Maistro has become available wrapped in flow packs, rather than per tray. Aurélie: "We started using flow packs to improve the shelf life quality of our products."

To promote her corn, Aurélie launched the website www.maistro.fr, where she shares recipes and other information about the product. The website is directly dedicated to consumers. In addition, Aurélie sells accessories, such as a device with which they can remove corn kernels. Aurélie: “Our goal is to educate our consumers and to familiarize them with the product.”

Medifel offers corn throughout the year: from June to December, the product is available in Provence. During the other months, Medifel imports their corn from Senegal, Morocco, and Spain.

Aurélie's daughter already enjoys corn

Medifel is a family business which deals with the production, packaging and marketing of products. In addition to corn, the company offers apples, pears, Chinese cabbage, cluster vegetables, garlic, spinach and green celery.
