Preliminary results suggest that Senegalese horticultural production over 2017/2018 reached 1,520,191 tons, up by 26% compared to the year before. This is mainly thanks to a 29.2% increase in vegetable production (which represents 81% of total horticultural production). Potatoes saw a 33.4% increase, cherry tomatoes 84.6% and industrial tomatoes over 150%. Harvests respectively reached 90,000 tons, 129,195 tons and 80,000 tons. Onion production increased by 1.7%, reaching 400,000 tons. Fruit production increased by 13.8% between the seasons.
