Cheap imported bananas flood Nigerian markets in Abuhja

The Abuhja markets in Nigeria have been flooded with low priced bananas which has some questioning the impact it could have on local banana farmers and traders, reports Premium Times. This was found during an investigation by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

They found the foreign bananas being sold in markets and even by street vendors. Sellers reported that they were taking on so much of the foreign produce because of its better quality, cheaper price and longer shelf life when compared to local varieties.
