Contracts to export $5.3M in Kazakhstan goods to China to boost bilateral ag trade
A decision to export products of Kazakh manufacturers for a total of $5.3 million was made following the business forum "Kazakhstan-China" held in China’s Urumchi on November 10, the press service of the national company KAZAKH INVEST reported.
Thirteen Kazakhstani manufacturers and about 100 Chinese potential buyers took part in the business forum.
The Kazakh delegation included producers of apples, mineral fertilizers, fat and oil products, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages among other products.
“As a whole, the results of the event included export contracts worth $5.3 million,” KAZAKH INVEST said in a statement.
Director of the KAZAKH INVEST department Kudiyarov Nurlan noted that 2017 was a breakthrough in the development of cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural sector.
The foreign trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China in the first eight months of 2017 increased by 31 percent and amounted to $6.5 billion. Kazakhstan’s exports amounted to $3.5 billion showing an increase of 28 percent, while imports grew by 36 percent and equaled to $3 billion.
