Onion prices in Poland now 30% cheaper than in Ukraine

Onion prices have been rapidly going down in Poland and now are on average 30% lower than in Ukraine, according to Fruit-Inform.

Onion prices are now varying between 0.17-0.20 euro/kg in Poland, while Ukrainian growers are offering their produce at 0.24-0.29 euro/kg.

While onion prices are relatively stable, those in Ukraine went down by 19-22% in Poland in the past weekend.

Polish farmers connect the trend with a rather considerable increase in the supply of onions, as many farms managed to go on their harvesting campaign thanks to better weather conditions in the country.

Current prices of Polish onions are on average 17% lower year-on-year, and the market participants expect a further decrease in them due to a growing supply and stable demand.
