China: Extreme weather severely damages Chongqing fruit

The production volume and quality of Chongqing fruit has been influenced by many factors, such as low temperatures and heavy and frequent rainfalls. The rainfall at the end of April caused large quantities of cherries to break open, and left the fruit tasteless. It reduced its value, and losses were over 80%. The Banan area even lost 80 million yuan. Similarly, the continuous rainfall at the end of June, caused waxberries to fall off and rot. The harvest was mostly lost.

Plums and peaches are now in their most important growth phase. When looking at the upcoming weather, if the management does not improve, the fruits will be infected by bacteria. What deserves the utmost attention is that, at the end of June, Chinese plums will be ready for harvest. The rainy weather can cause fruit to fall off, crack open and rot.
