First electric tractor at Macfrut

The first Italian electric tractor, probably the first in the world, is on display at Macfrut and has all it takes to be produced in series.

"We just took a normal Landini tractor and, together with the Geminiani company, created Hintesys - the first tractor powered by an electric motor that can work for 7-8 hours with either a cutter or rotary tiller. This is made possible by the 95% efficiency of an electric motor against the 30% of traditional diesel motors, explains Giorgio Lucchi, engineer at "Lucchi R. Elettromeccanica".

It could be a true revolution, especially if manufacturers decide to adopt the project and produce it in series. Tractors like these practically need no maintenance and batteries can be recharged overnight at a cost of €2-3. But with the increasing efficiency of lithium batteries, a faster recharge will also be possible. The tractors might even be charged directly in fields using photovoltaic panels and accumulators.

Some Russian operators accompanied by mediator Eugenia Kravchenko were particularly impressed.

We interviewed Alexander Okel from Solnechniy. "I'm looking for new technologies, especially for packaging. We have 35 hectares of greenhouses where we grow cucumbers and tomatoes. We produce around 6000 tons a years and sell practically to a single supermarket chain, X5 Retail Group."

Super-flavour seeds!
The cooperation between Ageon and Natural Power Seeds led to the creation of particularly aromatic species, which could be defined as vegetables that truly taste like vegetables.

Bernhard Nanninga Natural Power Seed

Bernhard Nanninga explains that the seed treatment is natural and suitable for organic production. We tasted peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes comparing treated and untreated samples and can confirm that vegetables grown from treated seeds were definitely tastier!
