China: Wenshang sells 260 cases of endives

Selling 260 cases of endives during their first visit to the Unique Products Association and successfully setting up a shop on Taobao, which allows this European high-quality vegetable to end up on the table of Chinese citizens: all of this is the result of one initiative.

After the executive president of the Wenshang and the Dutch-Chinese market association, Huang Jiazhen, successfully introduced endives as a new variety from the Netherlands, a 'purchase order agriculture' harvesting model was put in place in April this year.

In April 2014, he cooperated with the Dutch company Mileka Agriculture Industry for an investment of 100 million RMB to create a company named Shenyang city Baokun Agricultural Technology. In 2016, the cultivation of endives was started successfully on a surface of 20 hectares. This year, the surface was expanded to 200 hectares. The complete production follows the 'purchase order agriculture' model and adopts high-end agricultural techniques and a special, mechanised cultivation base for cultivation without soil. These techniques and technological applications were all imported from the Netherlands.
