Mango bagging increases output in Bangladesh

Bagging technology can give more marketable mango fruits over the non-bagged ones. This was disclosed by the Senior Scientific Officer of RHRC, Dr Saraf Uddin, recently, according to a local agency report.

Scientists of the Regional Horticulture Research Center (RHRC) in Chapainawabgonj have released the technology among the growers after getting a remarkable success in this field for the last couple of year.

Substantial use of the bags will reduce harmful chemical insecticides and pesticides to a greater extent. The technology will also help the export mangos of the two districts to various foreign markets.

As a result concerned authorities are now promoting fruit bagging technology in mango orchards in Rajshahi and Chapainawabgonj commercially during this pre-harvest season.
