Mangoes make their way to Kotapet, India market

According to officials at the Kothapet fruit market, around 100 to 200 trucks of mangoes from around India are reaching the market every day. This roughly translates to around 15 tonnes per day.

With the demand gradually going up across the city, officials at the market are expecting the number of trucks to go up to around 500 trucks per day soon.

According to the vendors in the market, they were buying the Banganepalle mangoes at Rs 50 per kg, which was the highest in the season, while the price for lesser quality ones was around Rs 20 per kg. The price of ‘Totapari’ mangoes fluctuates between Rs 10 to Rs 20 per kg while the Rasaalu variety was sold at Rs 20 to Rs 25 per kg.
