Indian railways add extra wagons to transport bumper onion crop

Indian railways have decided to add two extra wagons for transporting the bumper onion crop from Gujarat to other parts of India. So far 15 such wagons loaded with onions have already left the state.

The Bhavnagar division said that around 41,000 tonnes of onions has already been sent from the state to the northern parts of the country. The railways has also decided to add one additional wagon.

In order to help the farmers to get good prices for their crop, the railways has been adding these additional wagons and has decided to increase transportation of onions by around 50%.
