New Zealand company offering investors stake in gold kiwifruit orchard

Feilding-based rural investment business, MyFarm, is offering investors a stake in a gold kiwifruit orchard for the first time.

The company has $500 million of rural assets under management and its investment portfolio includes green kiwifruit orchards, vineyards and other agricultural assets.

MyFarm says it is looking for $6.3 million from investors to buy a 16 hectare property at Paengaroa, on the eastern end of the Tauranga.

Chief executive Andrew Watters said it had taken two years to secure a quality gold kiwifruit orchard.

"It is a very competitive market for quality orchards with established gold vines. We're thrilled to find a property that is established but also has a development component that will add value for investors."

He said the 3.3ha of green kiwifruit would be replanted in gold kiwifruit over the next five years.
