Italy: New sprout mixes from Vivo

"Vivo", a leading Italian company in the production of organic and traditional fresh soy sprouts, has recently introduced its new "Trimix" range.

TRIMIX FITNESS
"First of all, we have Trimix Fitness, which is a mix of fresh clover (25 g), purple radish (25 g) and fenugreek (25 g) sprouts. Every sprout type has its own distinct flavour and characteristics. Clover sprouts, for example, are rich in proteins, phosphorous, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron and zinc. In addition, they contain vitamins B, A, C and E," explains manager Pietro Farnedi.



Purple radishes are excellent sprouts with a white-purplish stem and red-purple leaves. They are perfect in salads, sandwiches and to toss in a pan. They have a rather hot aroma and the crunchy texture typical of julienned vegetables. Thanks to the colour, they can also be used as decoration.

Fenugreek sprouts are very aromatic, almost spicy, and are rich in protein, which can even exceed 20 grams per 100 grams of germinated seed. They supply numerous vitamins such as A, B (B1 and B3), D (difficult to find in vegetables) and E.

These sprouts have detoxifying properties and are beneficial to the liver and kidneys. They are also perfect in case of fatigue and anaemia. Trimix Fitness is perfect for people who do a lot of sport.

TRIMIX GOURMET
Trimix Gourmet is a mix of onion (25 g), red beet (25 g) and alfalfa (25 g) sprouts. It was developed for those who enjoy delicate yet persistent flavours that caress the palate leaving a hot aftertaste.



Onion sprouts can be used in entrées, first and second courses. Their nutritional content is very high and they have an antiseptic, diuretic and detoxifying function. Excellent in salads, fish dishes (tuna in particular) or with meat.

Red beet sprouts are crunchy and taste like beets. Rich in antioxidants and flavonoids, they are useful against free radicals.

Alfalfa sprouts have an extremely delicate flavour and can be used in all kinds of dishes, as they don't interfere with the flavour but improve nutritional value. The flavour is reminiscent of hazelnuts or peas.

TRIMIX SANDWICH
Trimix Sandwich is ideal to prepare delicious sandwiches and snacks. "We developed it combining three flavoursome sprouts - onion (25 g), purple radish (25 g) and alfalfa (25 g)."

"Trimix Wellness is ideal to help the metabolism and favour digestion. It is made up of carrot (25 g), broccoli (25 g) and clover (25 g) sprouts.



Carrot is rich in mineral salts and vitamins B, C, D and E. In addition, it contains carotene, which is a very important antioxidant. The properties of fresh carrots are considerably amplified in the sprouts.

Broccoli sprouts have the crunchy consistency typical of julienned vegetables. The flavour is typical of cabbage and they have diuretic properties. Very rich in fibre, potassium, iron and vitamins A, B, C, E.
Clover sprouts have a high protein content and are rich in phosphorous, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron and zinc. They also contain vitamins B, A, C, E.

TRIMIX SPECIAL WOK
"Trimix Special Wok is ideal for wok dishes. It contains chickpea (33,3%), lentil (33,3%) and pea (33,3%) sprouts. Chickpea sprouts are rich in essential amino-acids, vitamins A and C as well as iron and calcium. They have the amazing sweet flavour typical of chickpeas and present themselves as large filaments coming out of the seeds." 



Lentil sprouts are ideal for those looking for a high protein and iron intake - they are in fact among the best sources of vegetable proteins and 100 grams of lentil sprouts over over 20% of the daily iron requirement. Pea shoots are part of the pulse family. Ideal when added to soups at the end for some crunch.
