“Presenting Miss Perfect in new ways”

Paul van de Mierop explains: “We went looking for a way to present our Miss Perfect in a beautiful and practical manner. The idea behind the display boxes is that it is easy to use for retailers, it can be immediately displayed nicely in shops, and the small stand is easy and quick to build. Empty boxes can just be exchanged, which saves in labour. A tasting box can be placed on top of the stand. The major advantage of this is that consumers can clearly see and taste which product they are buying. We are strongly persuaded that we can convince consumers with the flavour of our Miss Perfect.”

“We want to give Miss Perfect the look it stands for, an exclusive flavour tomato with a high brix level. We therefore chose a new look, consisting of a fresh-looking white packaging with exclusive-looking golden lettering. We usually only sell the best Miss Perfect on vines but they are also available loose, which is about three per cent of the total harvest.” Each week, Den Berk produces approximately 60 tonnes of the strain, and in winter, about half that is produced. “Our aim is a growth to 100 tonnes of production per week. For now, demand is still high enough to continue growing. Miss Perfect is in the top three of most important tomatoes for Den Berk Délice. The pillars of our company are flavour, concepts and partnerships.”
