According to the New Times writer Appolonia Uwanziga, wholesale prices for tomatoes, bananas, oranges and other fruits in Rwanda have risen dramatically.

Various markets saw a rise in the price of tomatoes from Rwf 2,000 to Rwf 8,000 per basin. With tomatoes being a popular ingredient in food, consumers may have to make alterations until prices level out.

Bananas and oranges joined tomatoes in the climb at certain markets seeing prices increase Rwf30 and Rwf 200 respectively. Mangoes and passion fruit also saw an increased price of Rwf 200.
