NZ: Seeka celebrates rebrand with free kiwifruit

Seeka is celebrating its name change by getting out on the road with the ZM Black Thunder team and supplying free kiwifruit to schools. Katikati Primary School was treated to a feast of the green furry berries at the school at lunchtime last Thursda, 3 Nov.

Te Puke based Seeka Kiwifruit Industries Ltd, has rebranded to become Seeka Ltd to reflect its growth into a diversified produce company.

Client relationship manager Jenni Wilson says they are visiting schools in the Bay of Plenty as part of the rebranding to hand out free kiwifruit.

"It's been a big success so far - it's all part of our community focus and reflects our strong core values with a real focus on quality, relationships and safety."

Chief executive Michael Franks says kiwifruit remains the foundation, but the company has matured to the point where it is now time to reset the brand strategically for its next growth platform.

In addition to growing, processing and marketing kiwifruit, avocados and kiwiberries, Seeka also imports, ripens and distributes bananas and tropical fruits from the Philippines and South America in New Zealand, and holds the New Zealand agency for Sumifru.
