South Africa's Woolworths Holdings plans to buy Australian men's fashion brand Politix through its subsidiary, Country Road Group, the retailer said on Wednesday. Retail giant Tesco has reported another rise in sales, and says it is on track to hit its full-year profit target. Like-for-like sales, which strip out the impact of new store openings, grew 1% in the half-year to 27 August, and in the UK they rose by 0.6%. Investors welcomed the results, sending shares in Tesco up 9% in early trading.
