Terror attack will not affect trade from Turkey

A gun and bomb attack on Istanbul's Ataturk airport has killed 41 people, at least 13 of them foreigners, and injured more than 230, officials say.

Three attackers arrived in a taxi and began firing at the terminal entrance late on Tuesday. They blew themselves up after police fired back.

Turkish Airlines is closely monitoring the incident at Ataturk International Airport and is in touch with all appropriate authorities.

"The safety of our passengers and crew is our top priority. We will provide regular communication with passengers regarding the status of our flights around the world and will issue additional statements as warranted. Updated details about all TK flights can be followed via the official website or social media channels of Turkish Airlines.
Our thoughts and sympathies are with all those affected," stated a spokesperson from the airline.

"The situation in Turkey is under control," according to one exporter. "There are no increased security measures within the country and only two cargo flights were affected. The airport remains open."

The exporter says, as a company, their biggest concern is currency as they trade with many other businesses worldwide.
