Increase in organic farming in Denmark

In Denmark, there is an increase in farmers turning to organic farming. Acreage that farmers want to convert to organic has tripled compared to last year.

“More and more Danes are buying organic produce when they are shopping - this is now reflected in Danish farming,” says the Minister of Agriculture and the Environment, Eva Kjer Hansen, and “It is positive for export which is increasing”.

Following the increasing demand for organic produce, large retailers have found it hard to maintain a supply of certain products, such as organic beef.
