Bybee Produce one-stop shop for onions

With over 8,000 acres in Washington state, Bybee Produce grows a tremendous amount of onions. That footprint has helped make it a premier supplier of red, yellow and white onions for the retail and processing market both at home and abroad.

“As many acres as we have, we have to be able to ship to all different markets,” said Jason Walker of Bybee Produce. “Whether it's a wholesaler on the East Coast or a processor in California, we have to be able to service our customers and take good care of them so they continue coming back.” He estimated annual production at around three million 50-pound sacks, and some of that production is also exported to Japan and Taiwan.

Bybee is a family-owned enterprise with over 30 years of operation, though this is the first year they will exhibit at this year's PMA Fresh Summit in Atlanta, Georgia. Walker hopes they can expand their customer base at this year's event and let event attendees know Bybee is a one-stop shop for onions.

“We have a great product and we would like to have greater exposure,” said Walker. “We want to make sure people know who we are and get a chance to meet them.” You can visit Bybee Produce at this year's Fresh Summit at booth #5434.
