Gerry Li, Ridatrade:

Price of Chinese ginger back to normal

The ginger market is improving, according to sales manager Gerry Li from the Dutch branch of Rida Trade in Den Hoorn, The Netherlands. "Now that the good quality Chinese production is increasing, the price will return to a normal level on the Chinese market."

Rida Trade grows ginger in rural China, and alongside a Dutch office, they also have sales offices in Singapore and Malaysia. "We hope that European consumption of ginger will rise when the price has stabilized again. More and more people are becoming aware of the benefits of the ginger market. I expect a more competitive ginger market, and in a few weeks that will be seen in the price."
