Coles' latest loyalty drive
Significantly extended retailer partnerships
Coles has launched a new ecommerce store for its loyalty card holders, through which they can earn additional points shopping online. The new website acts as an online gateway to both Coles and existing third-party retailer ecommerce sites that participate in the flybuys scheme, including Target, Kmart, Medibank, Telstra, OPSM and Webjet. The website also highlights the significantly upweighted number of additional partners through which card holders can earn points, 15 in total, including some popular brands such as Apple, eBay, interflora, LÓccitane, Oakley, Sunglass Hut and Red Balloon.
Flybuys benefits accessed from one location
Flybuys card holders have to login to the new website, through which they can then access partner websites, where they can earn one point for every dollar spent. On the site, members can also view their points history, access vouchers, bonus points, plus link through to the flybuys rewards website, where they can buy products using their points. With shopper loyalty an on going battle in the Australian market place and online spending, according to the National Australia bank, hitting a record AU$16bn in 2014 (+11.9%), Coles is clearly keen to provide its seven million active flybuys card holders with additional perks.
Loyalty schemes will continue to shift online
Around the world as shoppers become more digitally savvy and reliant on mobile technology, the retailers and suppliers who get to grips with how to use this technology, digitise loyalty schemes and use them to target shoppers more effectively, will be well placed for future growth. Coles digital director, Roger Sniezek, commented, 'Our flybuys members tell us they want to earn rewards for their online shopping. Flybuys eShops enables us to deliver even more value and rewards through a new channel with great partners such as Apple and eBay. Flybuys is a massive boost for members, with even more online retail partners to come.'
