Excellence in Packaging

Mucci Farms awarded Impact Award at PMA Summit

It was not only a record breaking year at the Produce Marketing Association Fresh Summit, but also a personal best show for Mucci Farms.

The Impact Award; is a global program that recognizes companies that use innovation and packaging to maximize the selling of fresh produce. Mucci Farms held 3 of the top 20 spots with the TERRENOTM, naturally brown tomato custom lidded tray, CutecumbersTM – standup re-sealable bag and their New Pint, innovative top-seal re-sealable package.

At the Friday morning General Session Mucci Farms was awarded the Impact Award: Excellence in Packaging for its New Pint entry.

The New Pint is perfect for on-the-go snacking because of its unique shape and re-sealable technology. More sustainable than traditional clamshells, the new pint uses less plastic because there is no lid. The New Pint offers great visibility of product, while engaging the consumer with its high graphic recipe images. It also offers great merchandising options for the retailer.

In addition to the New Pint, fresh MIX is a new, dual compartment, re-sealable top-seal tray that allows consumers to enjoy 2 of their favorite tomato varieties in 1 unique package.

Mucci Farms was also selected as one of ten finalists for the Sensory Experience Contest; a showcase of innovative kid-friendly recipes that involves private tasting sessions by a panel of buyer judges and local children. Our Cool Summer Treats recipe made with our CutecumbersTM was a crowd drawing display at the Fresh Ideas in Action Reception.

Aside from the exhibitor opportunities, the company always looks forward to the annual PMA 5K Race. The company had its largest team registration in history this year, with 14 runners and Bert Mucci, finishing second overall.

New launches to Mucci Farms this year included: Naked Leaf series – living lettuce and herbs. Smuccies, sweet strawberries, Hotshots, ‘Flavour on Fire’ mixed hot peppers, and Blended Flavours, a medley of snack sized tomatoes, 5 varieties hand-selected ‘best in class’

Overall, the experience and exposure Mucci Farms gaines at the PMA Fresh Summit was amazing and the company looks forward to building and developing the working relationships that were created at this year’s show.
