Selgros Cash&Carry has inaugurated its new facilities in Lublin, the sixteenth of twenty planned Selgros warehouses in Poland. Its construction started in April this year and has lasted for six months. The cost of the investment amounts to 80 million Zloty (18.96 million Euro).
The new warehouse has a surface of about 10,000 square metres and offers a wide selection of food and industrial products, including fruit and vegetables, meat and dairy products, grouped thematically and arranged in an easily accessible manner for its customers.
"Our company currently employs about 4,000 people in Poland. In Lublin we have hired around 300 workers," says Cezary Furmanowicz, marketing director at Selgros.
Lublin's wholesale facilities will be open seven days a week, from Monday to Saturday from 3.00 to 21.00 and on Sunday from 8.00 to 18.00.
The operator also announced plans to launch a franchise network.
As emphasised by company representatives, "satisfactory sales results, also in Poland, have allowed the firm to continue expanding in countries of Central and Eastern Europe, such as Romania and Russia."
