Sakata Seed America debuts Tasty 10

Sakata Seed America, a global breeder of vegetable and flower seeds, is pleased to announce its Tasty 10 by Sakata Collection and the official launch at PMA Fresh Summit in Anaheim, CA. PMA Attendees are invited to visit Sakata at booth #3012 to learn about Sakata’s Tasty 10 collection - a medley of fruits and vegetables that truly delivers to the consumer’s taste buds and the grower’s needs.

Additionally, Sakata will launch its new stable of seedless watermelon. A renewed R&D effort has led to a resurgence of outstanding new triploid varieties including Kingman, Secretariat, Unbridled and Charismatic. These Triple Crown Winners offer high yield potential, long shelf life and flavorful, firm flesh - the perfect combination for success at the grower, retailer and consumer level.

Another heavy hitter, Infinite Gold long shelf life cantaloupe, will be making its PMA debut. This highly-anticipated LSL melon has been bred for firm flesh and long shelf life, without sacrificing great flavor and fruit quality. In fact, a third-party sensory analysis panel rated Infinite Gold higher in flavor and quality attributes than the leading competition. “Infinite Gold was bred to provide quality, firmness and flavor to the grower, retailer, and all the way down to the consumer,” Zachary Wortiska, Area Sales Manager-SJV/Bakersfield and Asst. Melon Product Manager said. “We are excited to bring the ‘Next Big Thing’ in cantaloupe and look forward to talking more about this variety at PMA.”
