According to the Fruit Exporters Association of Chile, based on data provided by the Agricultural and Livestock Service, SAG, there has been an increase in exports of domestic fruits to the Asian market during the 2013-2014 season (which runs from September 1, 2013 to July 6, 2014), compared to the same period last season (2012-2013).
Chile has exported 45,255,322 boxes of fruit to the Asian market, 2.16 percent more than in the previous season, which amounted to 44,300,238 boxes of fruit.
Shipments of grapes amounted to 20,803,003 boxes; cherries, to 11,199,943 boxes; Red apples to 5,217,679 boxes, and blueberries to 3,857,495 boxes.
Kiwi exports amounted to 1,439,431 boxes, while shipments of lime totalled 417,213 boxes, among other fruits.
