British growers say goodbye to organic agriculture

Whilst Germany is using subsidies to try and encourage more growers to switch to organic cultivation, more and more growers in Great Britain have been leaving organic production for years. Current figures from the British Ministry of Agriculture show that less animals are being kept according to the regulations for organic agriculture in the country. The production figures of organic poultry, beef and pork show a clear and continuous downward tendency over the last few years.

The amount of land with organic cultivation has also been decreasing for year. Even just in the last year the organic area of the various products decreased by 7.5 to 10%.
