France: Normandy's first click and collect for organic farm produce

Alternoo is an online store specialising in organic farm produce from Normandy. Their click and collect point in Rouen is the first of its kind in the region and will offer fresh, organic, local produce.

Clients will be able to pick up their shopping 3 hours after ordering (or choose to have it delivered to their home or pick up from a collection point).

Alternoo are working with 40 or so producers in the region who will supply fruit and vegetables as well as cheese, dairy products, eggs and bread.

Benjamin De Coster, the 34 year old founder of the company says that he wanted to set up something with a short-circuit between the producer and the consumer, ''to make a healthy and quality diet accessible and develop real sustainable agriculture for the future''.

To develop the project, Benjamin launched a 'crowd funding' campaign online to obtain the €4,000 needed. Anyone can contribute to the project by cheque or credit card, if the aim is not reached by the 10th July the contributors are reimbursed.
