Spain supplied almost 50% of EU's peppers

According to information provided by Eurostat/ICEX, over 46% of the EU's pepper imports originated from Spain. In total, Spain shipped 518,000 tonnes of peppers to the EU markets, reaching a total turnover of 747.5 million Euro. 

The second place was for the Netherlands, with a market share of approximately 35% and a total of 395,000 tonnes shipped. In terms of turnover, the Netherlands surpassed Spain with its better prices. The total turnover achieved by the Netherlands stood at 774 million Euro. Morocco had, according to statistics, a market share of 6.82%. 

The European Union's largest import market was Germany, with a total of 337,000 tonnes, followed by Great Britain with 170,000 tonnes.
