Germany: good demand for tomatoes due to good spring weather

There were a lot of tomatoes from Spain, Holland, Morocco and Italy present on the German wholesale markets in week 11, BLE reports. The tomatoes were of good quality and sold well due to the good spring weather. The price developments were positive. There were smaller amounts of beefsteak tomatoes and they received slightly higher prices. Prices for cherry tomatoes, especially those from Italy and Spain, barely changed despite the good demand. It was only in Frankfurt that the Spanish tomatoes rose in the middle of the week.
