Germany: Aldi Süd recalls pine nuts due to salmonella

Producer Märsch Import Handels GmbH informs about a product recall: In pine nuts of the brand 'Sweet Valley' with the minimum sell-by-date 17-08-2014 salmonella was discovered after an official inspection.

Although the legal control test, the control of the intermediate product and the technical inspection of all batches commercially present, could not confirm this indication, the company has recalled the following products as a safety precaution:

Sweet Valley – Pine nuts 50g,
minimum sell-by-date 17–08–2014

Sweet Valley – Pine mix 'Salat Plus' 175g,
minimum sell-by-date 17–08–2014

These products were sold exclusively by Aldi Süd in the German states of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. Other batches or products have not been contaminated! The products can be returned in the Aldi branches. The purchase price will be refunded even without showing the receipt.
