UK: Chiquita staff go bananas for Hollybank Trust

A banana import and ripening company has raised £1,000 for the Hollybank Trust.

A group of 15 ambassadors at Chiquita UK’s Dewsbury site worked with Chiquita Brands to take on a series of challenges. Fundraising activities included recycling drinks cans, raffles, and selling the Mirfield-based charity’s Christmas cards. Peter Birkhead, Jock Campbell, Paul and Leah Goodall, completed Leeds 10k in July, receiving £425 sponsorship. Others made personal donations, including Linsey Brown who gave a donation after a family golden wedding anniversary. Hollybank corporate partnerships fundraiser Suzanne Dyda said: “It’s great that a vibrant company like Chiquita can give us so much support.

“They’re very interested in our work with children and adults who have profound disabilities and would like to continue supporting us.”
