First tomato spotted in space

This tomato orbiting the Earth might be the coolest thing you’ll see all day – and no, this photo of produce floating in space is not photo-shopped.

It’s also not a sign that 'Attack of the Killer Tomatoes' is about to happen, for real.

It’s a snap from Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata aboard the International Space Station. He tweeted the photo writing: "One fresh tomato for dinner makes us happy in space. It came up with us on Soyuz TMA-11M two weeks ago."

Insalata Caprese in space has a nice ring to it don’t you think?
